Day Eighteen

“For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will end.” 1 Corinthians 13:9

We live on this earth as beings with limits. We can see both far and near, but require binoculars and microscopes to see even further. We can hear, but have volume knobs on our devices in case we need the sound turned up. We can move from space to space, but have limits in our capacities in regards to speed and distance. We were created with limits. There is a dawn and sundown to every day. There is time for work and time when our bodies require rest. We can predict or guess what we think even this very day may hold, but cannot be certain until the day is complete.

Colossians 1:16 says this…”For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

Our inability to “hold” all that life has for us is just a sign that we are limited. Our inability to see and hold can cause us to fear. If we listen to the messages of this world more than we listen to the message of HIs word, we will know fear. If we mediate and hold on to panic this world incites, we will struggle to “hold it all together”! But we have this assurance…..we were never made to “hold” it all together! God holds it ALL! This morning I see in part. But I have the assurance, that I Know the one who sees it all and holds it all. I can hold on in fear, or I can hold on in faith in the one who holds it all together.

Lord I confess today that if I listen to what my world want to communicate, I feel fear. Today I chose to hold on to you. I trust you with the unknowns and the limits in my life knowing that you hold everything together, and in love you hold me! I turn my limits and my defeats into your hands. Hold me today Lord! Hold those I love today Lord! Hold your church today Lord!
