21 Days of Prayer January 27th, 2019

Day Twenty-One

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:3-8

C.S. Lewis, writes in The Weight of Glory,“We live, in fact, in a world starved for solitude, silence, and private: and therefore starved for meditation and true friendship.” It is obvious that we are starving for relationships, especially healthy relationship. But, we don’t see ourselves starving for worship because we equate worship with attending a religious service of some kind. I talked with a young adult, who told me that “they don’t do church.” I simply responded, “neither do I, neither do I.”  Worship is our response to the glory of God. I need worship to remind me of my need for God. A.W. Tozer writes, ““If you’re not worshiping God on Monday the way you did the day before, perhaps you’re not worshiping him at all. Worship is no longer worship when it reflects the culture around us more than the Christ within us.”

Pray for NewLife Gathering to worship God in Spirit and in Truth. Pray for Shawn and the worship team. Pray for Hal and Scott. Pray for Susie and our children’s team. Pray for God to send His Spirit into hearts and lives of all those who worship in Jesus name around the world. I will be praying for God to increase your heart for worship and praise of Him. Thanks for joining us on these 21-days of prayer.  – Scott & Kim
