21 Days of Prayer: August 7

Day Two

25 “All humanity has seen it; mortals gaze on it from afar. 26 How great is God—beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out.”  Job 36:25-26

How is your vision?? Do you need your reading glasses to read this devotion, or have you forgotten where you put your readers. I have friends who have readers in various rooms of their home and even a separate pair in their vehicle. As our bodies age, we tend to forget and see things less and less. We are not getting any younger. Because of my own curiosity, I wanted to know my actual body age, so I took the biological-age test. Guess what, I flunked!! Just kidding….actually I was five and half years younger than my actual age. I was pretty excited, but is there a way to calculate your spiritual age? Job gives us our answer…when our “number of years is past finding out.” Your spiritual vision defines your actual spiritual age. Jonathan Swift said, “Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.” Job describes that “all humanity has seen it; and all mortals gaze upon it from afar—how great is God beyond our understanding!” The trials of life is the marker of our spiritual vision. How we respond marks our actual spiritual age (maturity).Make your vision so clear that your fears become irrelevant. Helen Keller wrote, “the only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” Pray for spiritual eyes to behold the greatness of God. Pray for spiritual vision to see God at work in every area of your life and the lives of others today!!
