“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 127:13-14
David was an impatient man. He had a hard time waiting. In fact, his impatience led him to make bad decisions. He was on the run from his own son who was trying to kill him and hiding in a cave, when he finished this song. “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord.” God meets us in our waiting rooms. God is waiting on us to be patient with Him in the land of the living. We find strength waiting on God. We find courage waiting on God. Betsy Childs Howard writes, “Waiting exposes our idols and throws a wrench into our coping mechanisms. It brings us to the end of what we can control and forces us to cry out to God. God doesn’t waste our waiting. He uses it to conform us to the image of his Son.” Don’t miss what God is ready to do in your waiting room this morning.
