21 Days of Prayer: August 13

Day Eight

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” Psalm 91:9-12

What do you worry about?? How often do you worry?? Do you worry just to worry, like has worry become a morning workout for you?? Someone has said, “That a day of worry is more exhausting than a week of work.” In fact, some of us have become professional worriers!! You can’t change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future. I heard someone say, “don’t worry, 90% of what we worry about will never happen!!” The psalmist goes even deeper, “no harm will overtake you, or disaster will come near your tent, for he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” God protects those who put their trust in Him. Choose today to make the Lord your refuge and the Most High your dwelling place and leave worries behind. During the basketball season, we had a phrase the players often repeated to one another on the court, “No Worries, No Worries, God’s got this!!” In the locker room after securing a share of the SEC championship, it was filled with the chant, “No worries, No worries, No worries, God’s got this!!” Pray for God to take your worries, all of them this morning!! Pray for God to become your refuge and strength!! I can hear you shout, “No Worries, No Worries, God’s got this!!”
