21 Days of Prayer and Fasting (Overtime): January 29

Day Twenty-Two

“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35

Are you a giver?? I love celebrations when you have the opportunity to give gifts!! I get so excited when I purchase a gift, that I want to give the gift right away and not wait til the celebration. Did you know that God gets excited about giving gifts to His children? He loves celebrations, in fact, He created most of the celebrations that we enjoy. Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Our life on earth is so brief compared with eternity, yet how we live on earth will influence how we live throughout eternity.
Charles Stanley said, “From what we get we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life. Blessed are those who give without remembering and take without forgetting: What I kept, I lost; What I spent, I had; What I gave, I have.”

What will be the contribution of your life? Each of us must ask, “When all is said and done, and my time on earth is through, what do I want to have contributed?” Dr. Paul Lee Tran writes, “Money can a buy a bed but not sleep. Money can buy books but not brains. Money can buy food but an appetite. Money can buy fine jewelry but not beauty. Money can buy a house but not a home. Money can buy medicine but not health. Money can buy pleasures but not peace. Money can buy luxuries but not a faith. Money can buy amusements but not joy. Money can buy a crucifix, not a savior. Money can buy a building but not heaven.”

Pray this morning for a giving heart. Ask God for opportunities to give back during your day. God loves a cheerful giver, so look for opportunities to give, don’t hold back!! Pray for NewLife and our partners to be generous givers all day today!!
