21 Days of Prayer and Fasting: January 9

Day Two

“The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:5-7

Worry means to give way to anxiety or unease; to allow one’s mind to dwell on difficulty. Webster goes on to define worry as the tendency to overthink or get in a state of panic!! Worry has a way of paralyzing our prayer life. In fact, worry can dominate our lives. Just an observation, the opposite of worry is not peace but gratitude. Paul exhorts us to pray with thanksgiving!! Focus on what you can control and let go of what you cannot control. Thank your way out of worry, develop an attitude of gratitude!! Our worries dim in the light of God’s presence!! Let the gratitude begin today, bring your worries to Jesus!! Spend some time releasing the need to worry about the worries in your life and begin your day giving thanks for all the things God is doing and will do in your life today!! Don’t forget to thank Him for waking you up this morning!!
