21 Days of Prayer and Fasting: January 8

From the beginning of NewLife Gathering, we have made it a priority to seek God first in prayer. We do this collectively as a church in January and August through 21 Days of Prayer. These two months are intentional, as they begin new seasons of the year. Together, we faithfully seek God first, trusting in His power alone to create lasting impact in our lives, our church, and our world. We will begin our 21 Days of Prayer on Monday, January 8th through Monday, January 29th. Let’s pray for God to show us His glory!!

Day One:

18 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” -Psalm 34:18-

God draws near to the broken. I can’t beyond those words, because for so long I thought that I needed to fix my own brokenness before God would ever accept me. Okay, I admit it, I’m a fixer. I love to fix broken things, but sometimes I make more of a mess because I don’t always have the patience. Okay, I really admit it, I’m an impatient fixer. My impatience is a smokescreen for my pride. My selfish pride enables me to seek selfhealing instead of seeking the Only Healer of my soul. God came into our brokenness to bring healing and restoration. He is the restorer of broken things. He is the redeemer of those crushed in spirit. Bring your brokenness to Jesus!! Let the healing begin today!! Spend time praying this morning for God to meet you in the greatest place of your brokenness, don’t forget to pray for the broken people you will meet on the journey today!!
