21 Days of Prayer and Fasting: January 27

Day Twenty

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

What is transformation?? Webster defines, “a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance.” What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of spiritual growth?? Spiritual transformation develops spiritual growth. While the transformation process is an end in itself, the ultimate end is Christ’s glory. He is the One adored by those who experience His presence and are transformed by the gospel. The gospel transforms everything!! Tim Keller writes, “Love without truth is sentimentality; it supports and affirms us but keeps us in denial about our flaws. Truth without love is harshness; it gives us information but in such a way that we cannot really hear it. God’s saving love in Christ, however, is marked by both radical truthfulness about who we are and yet also radical, unconditional commitment to us. The merciful commitment strengthens us to see the truth about ourselves and repent. The conviction and repentance move us to cling to and rest in God’s mercy and grace.” Have you been transformed by the gospel?? I need the gospel every single day!! My favorite missionary Jim Elliot writes, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.”

Pray for transformation this morning. Pray for a thorough and dramatic transformation in every area of your life today!!
