21 Days of Prayer and Fasting: January 22

Day Fifteen

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life.” 1 John 1:1-2

Queen Victoria would sometimes leave her Baloral Castle, dressed as a peasant woman, and take a stroll around the village, with her trusted butler John Brown following her. One day, she came upon a young boy herding sheep outside the village, when the young boy blutered out, “Watch out, old woman, get out of the way!” John Brown quickly said, “Young man, you are speaking to the queen!” The young boy, simply said, “Well, she doesn’t dress like a queen!!” There were some who missed him, because he wasn’t dressed like a king!! Have you missed Him?? We can’t see Him, because we are looking in all the wrong places. We can’t see Him, because we have been blinded by our sin. We can’t see Him, because we are looking for somebody else. We can’t see Him, because we don’t really believe it!! The apostle John writes, “Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). CS Lewis recalls, “Christianity in its purest form, is nothing more than seeing Jesus. Christian service, in its purest form, is nothing more than imitating him who we see. To see His Majesty, and to imitate him, that is the sum of Christianity.” Pray for God to give you vision to see Him today. Pray for vision to see the things that God wants to reveal to you today!! Don’t miss seeing Jesus today!!
