21 Days of Prayer and Fasting: January 21

Day Fourteen

“From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn and I will confirm it, That I will keep Your righteous ordinances….” Psalm 119:105

How bright is God’s Word in your life?? Is God’s Word glowing on your path?? In his book, How to Study the Bible for Yourself, Tim LaHaye lists seven things that Scripture memory can do for you: 1) It will give you victory over sin, 2) It helps you overcome worry, 3) It will give you a confidence in sharing your faith, 4) It increases the transformation process, 5) It assists you in discovering God’s will for your life, 6) It helps you in your other studies and, 7) It outfits you for unlimited service to God.

Application is the goal of our journey as followers of Jesus!! Alexander McLaren writes, “It’s not enough to go through the Word of God; God’s Word must go through you.” The simple truth is sin will keep from God’s Word, but God’s Word will keep you from sin. Pray for God to give you an appetite for His precepts in your life. Pray for God’s Word to become the only light to your feet and the only lamp to your path. Pray for those who teach God’s Word to be full of God’s grace and mercy. Pray for God to be glorified in our worship. I look forward to seeing you in worship this morning.
