21 Days of Prayer and Fasting: January 17

Day Ten

“You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great.” Psalm 18:35

What is gentleness? Are you a gentle person?? Gentleness is the quality of being kind, tender, or mild-mannered. Gentleness is a spiritual fruit, grown in you so you can live in a
gentle way, choosing not to use cruel power over others. Leo Rosten writes, “Nothing is so strong as gentleness. Nothing is so gentle as real strength. I have learned that it is the
weak who are cruel, and that gentleness is to be expected only from the strong.” When I read this verse, I was amazed that the greatness of God is rooted in His gentleness!!
Someone has said, “Our identity rests in God’s relentless gentleness for us revealed in Jesus Christ.” Wake up this morning to the gentleness of God and begin your day
thanking Him for His shield of protection and His hand of support. Pray for God to give you more of His gentleness today. Pray for your family and friends to experience the
gentleness of God in their lives today!!
